How Sikorsky developed, then certified, the ability for helicopters to safely approach and land on offshore oil rigs in all weather conditions.

Ron Doeppner is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy, the US Army primary flight school for helicopters, the US Air Force primary flight school for jets, and the US Navy test pilot school. After a 22 year military career, Ron joined Sikorsky Aircraft where he was primarily employed in the development, certification, and marketing of the S-92. He retired from Sikorsky in April of 2015 with 7,500 hours of accident-laced flight time.


Cost: $5 donation requested. Attendees responsible for purchasing food at the restaurant
